For one pound of pasta: Heat 4.5 quarts of water to boiling in a large pot. Add pasta (with teaspoon of salt, if desired) and cook on medium-high heat for 12-15 minutes to desired doneness. Stir occasionally. Rinse with cold water and drain well.
Energy Saving Cooking Instructions:
Cook 1 to 2 minutes in boiling water and stir gently. Switch off stove. Cover pot for about 17 minutes. Ready to serve. The good texture of Tinkyada can withstand quite a bit of over-cooking.
