Tips: Wet your pet. Work into your pet’s coat and rinse well. If your pet has a particularly thick coat, it sometimes helps to dilute the shampoo 30% to 50% to allow full saturation into its coat. Warm water is a big plus over hose cold (your pet will thank you too).
Soap won’t hurt pets if they lick it but it will irritate their eyes if it gets in them.
